Melford Speak With Minister Graham Stuart, UK International Trade Minister

April 2020

Melford Technologies Sales Director, Grant Smith, had an opportunity to speak (over MS Teams) with Minister Graham Stuart, UK International Trade Minister and Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness.

With over 80% of product being exported by Melford the Minister wished to discuss how this was currently being fulfilled in the current climate and how the staff had been affected.

He was extremely impressed with the way in which the company and staff had adjusted to new working hours to accommodate the socially distanced measures.

The conversation focused on the Covid-19 impact and how Melford have met with the challenge to negate this by revising shift patterns (spread over 24 hours) and ensuring non-essential staff not involved in the production and manufacturing processes work from home.
