2023 News Round Up

It’s has been a great year for Melford Technologies. We have welcomed some new members to our UK team and have been lucky enough to work with our network of expert partners and diverse clients on some really interesting and innovative projects.  Here’s some of our 2023 highlights.

In the game

At Melford we’re known for our custom-built, self-service kiosks and digital signage solutions and in 2023 – working in conjunction with our awesome business partners - we’ve secured our innovative technologies into stadiums and venues up and down the country. We’re proud to be part of customised solutions at Leicester City FC, Aston Villa, Edgbaston and the SEC in Glasgow to name a few; in fact you’ll find Melford hardware in 25% of the Premiership football clubs!  But it doesn’t stop there, we are working on an exciting export opportunity to install our self-order kiosks in a number of large European Stadiums, one of which will be fully functional by the end of January 2024... look out for the press release!

New Partnership with The Barcode Warehouse

During 2023 we announced our new partnership with The Barcode Warehouse.  We are proud to be working in collaboration on a number of exciting projects including the groundbreaking (no pun intended) “drop zone” installed in The Barcode Warehouse ICE Centre in Newark. The test kit drop zone is designed to really see how robust and fit for purpose rugged mobile technologies are. We’re looking forward to working together on many more interesting and innovative digital solutions and self-service kiosk projects throughout 2024. 

Falcon swoops into home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club

We’re pleased to be part of the new on-site catering and hospitality training centre at Edgbaston Stadium. The Melford wall mounted Falcon kiosk features in the new space - known as Xcelerate with Edgbaston – that will provide front and back-of-house, facilities management and IT digital solutions training for aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals, offering career experience and opportunities for local people. 

On track with National Rail

With over 50 years of experience in the transport sector Melford is a well known supplier of ruggedised and customer built hardware for the rail industry.  Our long-standing relationship with Network Rail continued this year as we worked closely with them, developing bespoke solutions to overcome some of their most complex technical challenges. We played a key part in the infrastructure developments specified in CP6 plans supplying over two thousand bespoke monitors throughout 2023 and will continue to do so into next year, supporting and managing legacy hardware solutions through to end of life and ensuring existing hardware remains fit for purpose.

Ruggedised navigation screens on the Shannon lifeboat fleet

We are honoured to supply the RNLI with Melford’s ruggedised, marine radar displays for the latest lifeboat to join their fleet. The Shannon is the first modern all-weather lifeboat to be propelled by waterjets, making it the most agile and manoeuvrable all-weather lifeboat yet and features a custom-built, all-weather radar solution, designed by Melford to operate in all extremes and environments.
