E-Paper delivers important public information and timetables to bus passengers at Chatham Waterfront

The challenge
Melford Technologies was approached by Medway Council to deliver new outdoor e-paper displays to inform bus passengers at Chatham Waterfront of the latest travel information and timetables, designed to replace traditional paper signage.
Given the outdoor environment and variable weather conditions, Medway Council needed a weatherproof solution that could be self-sustaining with minimal maintenance needs.
They also required a solution that they could be updated easily on-demand, and that required much less manual involvement than paper signage to keep up to date with the latest information.

The solution
The team at Melford suggested their latest range of monochrome outdoor e-paper displays as the ideal solution for Medway Council’s needs.
In addition to their highly efficient, low power design - the proposed solution featured solar panel power generation, ensuring the displays could perform independently, year round. A specific branded housing was also designed to ensure maximum ingress protection, protecting the displays from harsh weather.
By providing Medway Council with a digital solution, information could be updated within seconds over wi-fi as required - saving both the manual effort of regularly replacing paper signage, and completely removing print costs.
Following the success of the installation, Medway Council is looking at further rollouts at various transport hubs across the local authority.
Melford provide a versatile range of eco-friendly e-paper displays, for indoor and outdoor locations. If you would like to discuss how we can tailor a solution that meets your needs, contact us, or call: 01494 638069 for a chat.
